About me

Hi, I’m Jodie!

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a deep love for animals. For this reason, my purpose in life is to help animals in any way I can.

While I spent most of my working life in the corporate world, I have volunteered with many animal organizations over the years and have taken many, many classes and courses revolving around animals!

In June 2023, I became an ordained Animal Chaplain, and I now offer services to help animals and those who care about them. Find out more about the services I offer here.

This website was originally created when I started the Fosters & Ferals Challenge, where I made a donation to a different animal organization every single day of the year. My goal was to help as many animal charities as possible, big and small, by donating and raising awareness.

It was an incredible challenge and I got to meet many wonderful people whose goal, like mine, is to help animals. To find out more about these 365 wonderful causes, please check out my Donation Directory.

I am also the Ambassador of The Animal Communication Collective, a volunteer organization created by an incredible group of women, all of whom are professional animal communicators.  The Animal Communication Collective helps animals by collaborating with animal welfare organizations through online fundraising events. Together, we raised over $15,000 for 501(c)3 animal organizations in 2022.

In 2023, I was honored to join the board of directors of Farm of the Free Animal Sanctuary in Good Hope, Georgia and I am enjoying helping them share their mission with the world.

Animal Chaplaincy Services

In June 2023, after completing a nine-month intensive course, I became an ordained Animal Chaplain through Compassion Consortium. My plan is to help animals and the people who care about them with my services.

When I first heard of an animal chaplaincy course, I was intrigued. The more I looked into it, the more I thought - this is it! This somehow combines everything I’ve been doing through the years into something I can do to help not only animals but their people as well. I met so many like-minded people during my nine months of training and learned so much about animals and life in general. I’d like to take what I’ve learned and help all animals and those who care about them.

One of my primary focuses has been on the wild animals I have been working with at my local wildlife rescue center. When I return home from my volunteer shift, I perform a Sacred Sendoff Ceremony for the animals lost that day (if any). I also keep a log in my car of animals killed that I see lying on the side of the road and perform Sacred Sendoffs for them. By doing this, it helps ease the pain I feel in my heart every time I see an animal lying dead in the road.

Going forward, I am offering my Animal Chaplaincy services to individuals who would like to honor their animal companions. I am also offering services to animal rescue organizations to help them with losses they suffer - whether that is with a Sacred Sendoff Ceremony or memorial / remembrance services.

I will also be holding a monthly Group Sacred Sendoff Ceremony on the first Sunday of every month, offering those who are interested the opportunity to have an animal they have lost remembered and honored. These services will be held at no cost to those interested.
