Free Monthly In-Person Pet Loss Support & Memorial Group

Together, we honor the paws that left their prints on our hearts.

Losing a beloved pet is an incredibly painful experience—one that touches our heart and alters the fabric of our daily lives.

Knowing that many experience disenfranchised grief, where their profound loss may go unacknowledged or unsupported by others, this support group provides a dedicated space for pet parents to share their sorrow and journey toward healing.

Each gathering includes a closing sacred ritual, which also offers those grieving a chance to remember and honor their animal companions.

How It Works

This group is a safe, welcoming environment exclusively focused on supporting those dealing with the loss of a cherished pet. Meetings are held monthly for 90 minutes, during which participants can share their experiences, receive empathetic support, and learn coping strategies. To ensure that every participant has the opportunity to share and receive support, space is limited, so that each voice is heard and valued.

Who This is For?

This group is best suited for pet parents experiencing grief over the loss of their animal companion, especially those whose feelings of loss may not be fully recognized by others. If you are seeking understanding and support from individuals who truly empathize with the unique bond you shared with your pet, this group is for you. There is no obligation to share; listening is welcome.

Although the group is designed to foster connection and mutual understanding, it is important to note that it is not a substitute for professional therapy.

How Do I Join?

Since space is limited to 12 participants, you must register in advance by either calling/texting 917.324.5931 or emailing fostersandferals@gmail.com.

To ensure a supportive and comfortable environment, all prospective participants will have a brief 3-5 minute phone conversation with Jodie before joining the group. This call is designed to provide further information, address any questions, and help establish a sense of trust before you participate in the meetings.
